At some stage, one of my old email addresses has been added to a Liberal Party mailing list. Every few days a little ditty is sent out telling me how jolly marvellous them Libs are and how naughty and incompetent the Opposition is.
And every time, Thunderbird says that it thinks the email is a scam. Who knew that software could be so cynical?
are you still active in the libertarian scene, Jacques? didn’t you have a blog before?
I do have a blog, but it’s sort of languished from me being a lazy bum and an egotist. My best post on that one is probably my “Diaries Revisited”.
The post above, for example, is a direct lift from my last post there. The opensource politics bit further down here is new, though.
Ken’s known me as a libertarian muckraiser for some time as one of his former law students, and some time ago he extended an invitation to drop into Troppo a bit.
As for the libertarian scene – I did go to an L&S conference earlier this year which was absolutely fantastic. Apart from that? There’s no libertarian scene in Darwin per se. The scene that used to exist was the University Liberal Club, founded and run by yours truly for 4 years, before it folded for lack of succession.
What’s L&S? – I don’t spose it’s ‘Libertarians and Spinsters’? Still, it’s a thought.
The Net Nanny on a PC I occasionally use says Tim Blair is pornography. On the other hand, it also says Club Troppo is pornography. (It’s not very intelligent.)
Helen, it is true that we occasionally talk about penis enlargement on this blog – which can be a bit of a no-no. I can write this secure in the knowledge that I will not be moderated. Oh the joys of being an ‘administrator’.
L&S –> Liberty and Society.
‘Libertarians and spinsters’ is a great idea, Nick. I’ll have a chat to Greg Lindsay about it …
