Missing Link … is this thing on?

Sorry for the inconvenience guys, but I’m taking us off FeedBlitz because of its massive delay relative to the website.

Instead we’ll be using a plugin and a bog standard mailing list system. Please bear with me while the transition takes place – the upshot is:

  1. That today’s Missing Link won’t be emailed to subscribers. Sorry!
  2. You shouldn’t subscribe to the FeedBlitz system, as that setup has been paused. I will set up new subscription tools.
  3. Once nailed down, the new approach should see near-instantaneous transmission of Missing Link to email subscribers – including this ditty.

Update: Everything should be working now if you sign up using the boxes on posts or on the sidebar. I’ve updated the “About Missing Link” page with new code for other bloggers to embed in their pages. Thanks everyone for your patience.

    Could we broadcast today’s Missing Link to subscribers somehow? What about last Friday’s?

    I assume that all existing subscribers have been migrated across to the new system so that they will continue to receive Missing Link and won’t need to re-subscribe??? Maybe the primary post should make this clearer.

    Ken, to answer your question, all current subscribers have been brought across to the new setup.

    As for sending out previous Missing Links, I’ll see what I can do, but I have a bad feeling it would require deleting and reposting the stories.

    How about just repost ‘em as Tuesdays missing link, etc.

    And while yr on routine cleaning spouts and housekeeping – could you make the default on the Notify me of followup comments via e-mail set to NO. I keep getting caught with bloody emails. I’m sure Nic Gruen the default theorist will agree that the best default is NO emails. Opt in is best.
