There’s more than a few commenters on the mil-threads who go by non-genderspecific handles, Rob and SL, and not just at LP. Hard to tell who’s boy and who’s not. In any case I third the call.
Personally I’ve no military experience, qualification or special interest whatsoever—just pure morbid enthusiasm.

I really should pop over to LP and comment on your mil posts, Robert. After all, I’m the one always sticking F-22A stuff up on the Cat, getting Dennis Jensen to guest blog etc, but I have to admit I’ve been very slack.
Partly, too, it’s because my milblogging interests are very amateur. Beyond a bit of firearms experience, I’m strictly an armchair strategist with a bit of a bent for military history. Researching my first novel got me into the groundpounder stuff, and later on I developed an interest in air power - to the point of studying an aviation law subject at uni. I’ve never done a damned thing with it, though.

Sl, interesting observation about the commentary on my post this week.I would indeed prefer that the posts on military topics had a more balanced set of commenters.

While I understand that military hardware is a “boys and their toys” kind of thing, it’s your tax dollars being spent on it. And there’s plenty of women in the services whose future safety will depend on the weapons we purchase.
