Converting non-standard movie format bleg
Posted by Nicholas Gruen on Friday, November 16, 2007
Many years ago someone did up an animation for Peach Home Loans in flash and supplied it to me in an exe file.
But you can’t upload exe files onto YouTube. Cam Riley says that he thinks those with Apple OSX might be able to take a moving screen capture of the animation. If anyone can tell me how to do it, or do it for me and send me a converted file at nicholas AT gruenxx DOT com DOT au (remove the xx’s from the domain name) I will be deeply grateful.

Will this do the trick?

P.S. Not sure how a MacOSX bod is supposed to do anything with that file, it is a Windows executable. I can’t play it on my Mac except through Windows XP running under Parallels (sort of virtual machine software).
Sorry.

When a designer packages Flash into an exe, it’s often to protect his or her work against decompilation. Do you have the rights to use the work in the way you propose?
