Gummo: If you are into bad puns, there'll be a few in this suite of groan inducers (and sometimes a tired, shagged out and woolly headed brain helps get the perspective required to solve the puzzle). And, oh dear, the punner in me is going "the subject of the submission" in sense of grammar (v object), metadata (the topic), and as one subject to the laws of the realm.

It was me – bad pun on submit, written late at night when I was a bit tired, shagged out and woolly-headed.

I got the impression that the it was the privacy commission for NSW from the address – had it been a Canberra address, I might not have made that mistake.

I didn’t mention a “NSW” privacy commission inquiry (the “privacy.gov.au” in the email address rather than “privacy.nsw.gov.au” was a bit of a giveaway). It was a federal gov media release that alerted me. And in what sense “dominator?” – that post in particular was less from a dominus and more from a hemi-demi-semi-urge.

I wonder why no-one is asking the obvious question – is this a situation where a short-term targetted international intervention to impose a free and fair election process should be considered?

What with that militia support Mugabe has, perhaps people are a little worried of having Iraq thrown in their faces if they bring it up.

The Left can’t mention it because it would be tremendously hypocritical to have spent five+ years using any and all excuses to oppose an intervention in Iraq. The Right don’t care to mention it because it would take eyeballs away from their concerted efforts to blame the last 28 years of Zimbabwe history on that Machiavelli of the Western Districts, Malcolm Fraser.

But seriously, I don’t think you could pull it off. I think once again you’d have to go in planning to be there a long time because otherwise there’s far too high a chance for militia on militia civil war and murder as soon as you leave.
