Black to play
L De Veauce vs Keene

6. …?
See game for solution.
Difficulty Scale

A seven move game. Not hard to see the answer, but kind of humorous nevertheless, especially given that this was a near grandmaster standard game.

    Seven moves?

Bishop to G3, then the only way out of check is pawn takes bishop. Black queen to G3 and we’re done.

    Don’t think I’m missing anything.

Ah, black exploits the weakness on white’s f-file. A good demonstration of a basic concept in chess tactics.

No FDB, you’ve not missed anything. You can click through to the game should you wish.

Another fun puzzle would be to work out what the preceding moves were.
