If I ever was to turn on internet banking, it would be an account at a different bank, debit only, and I’d only put money in for specific purposes, but generally keep no more money in it than I can afford to lose. ($50 to $100 bucks should cover most of the internet payments I might want if I ever used eBay, Kindle, or the like)
Man, what a dumbarse FBI director.
I’ve got internet banking enabled. I just don’t EVER do anything at all except via the proper frickin’ login screen.
Why on Earth would you do what an unsolicited email tells you to do in any sphere of your life?
Posted on 10-Oct-09 at 6:51 pm | PermalinkNa, davebath, the chances f losing from these ssort of scams is still consoderably smaller than the chances of being mugged when you carry cash in your wallet. Especially if you take elementary precautions.
But really, the FBI head must be computer illiterate. When you set up an internet bank account banks go to some lengths to make sure you know never, ever to answer an unsolicited email purporting to be from them.
