Professor Bunyip has been notably AWOL from the blogosphere over the last week or so. However, his bile has obviously been quietly but ominously building up volcanic pressure during the hiatus, and today it burst forth in a spectacularly dazzling virtuoso spray against his favourite target the Silly Moaning Hillmer and all who sail in her. Even if you’re a closet communard and regard RWDBs like Bunyip as beneath contempt, you should still go and read it IMO. It’s a classic of the splenetic blogging genre. I often disagree with the Prof, but I happily confess that I wish I could write as well as he does.

I don’t get it Ken. Your writing is a lot better than Bunyip’s, who seems to have trained in the pompous-git school under Auberon Waugh.
What Anthony said.
Bunyipzinsky is prolix, pretentious and pompous.
It’s a matter of personal taste, obviously, and I like Bunyip’s style even when I dispute the substance of what he’s saying. Nevertheless, thanks for the compliments.
Definite triumph of style over substance in my view. Wish I could get away with writing so well about so little.
I wish I could write a tenth as well as Oscar Wilde however that doesn’t mean I read him a lot.
I could say the same about Tolkien but I do read him a lot.
