“SAS Exposed to Danger,” Shock

It’s true. According to a study reported in the Oz “members of the elite Special Air Service (SAS) were exposed to lead, teargas and explosions in training, and experienced high levels of physical trauma and stress.” Who knew?

To be utterly even-handed, the Study does dwell at some length on specific chemical/asbestos exposure and the potential implications pertaining thereto, but even so: the SAS was – and is – specifically about those who are assessed to be capable (via gruelling selection procedures) of withstanding much higher levels of physical trauma and stress than the rest of their military colleagues. I really hope that this is mainly about reportage spin…….

i know a couple of sas dudes, and they sure are capable. live firing exercises, including during tactical withdrawals, ie: don’t shoot your friends. everything they do is extreme. and they are the best of the best. and they know it, and so does everyone else in the armed forces. you have to really want to do it, to do it, and have the ability etc….
