A Very Troppo Christmas

Revellers on a Hot Hill End Night

That’s me in the middle. I don’t normally wear Hawaiian shirts but it’s a good troppo look.

Well, all the presents are bought and only the grog remains (though I made a start on the bubbles on my partner’s back deck last night relaxing with a nice view of the city through the gum trees…). Looks like the Brisvegas weather is going to be troppo indeed!.

Anyway, I’d like to wish Troppo readers and my fellow writers a very happy Chrissie – and a holy one for those of you so inclined. Remember – play safe, kids & I’ll see you when I surface!

I must say, some of those comments were highly amusing.

Hate to ask for a link, but could you pop my blog anonymouslefty.blogspot.com in your blogroll?

M*lbourneLefty has suddenly died.

AnonymousLefty has mysteriously appeared to fill the small void it left.

Not that they’re linked, in any way, of course…

Jeez Mark, if you look that young, how old’s yer kid Brian?

Nabs, I think the choice of pic must have been determined by the availability of suitable celebratory scenes rather than by recency.

If you want to know how young the ‘kid’ looks you could go here (with adoring fan, taken 6 months ago). http://www.slaq.org.au/awards.htm

PS The camera made a very conservative jacket look like something else.

Woah! Cool jacket! Is that why yer being presented with the Brian Bahnisch award?

Nabs, you are reading too fast. I’m presenting the award which is named after me. After the speech I made they won’t risk that again probably.

It was a bit of a thrill that they remembered me in a positive light after I’ve been away from the area for 13 tears. Or maybe they’ve forgotten the bad bits.

There is actually a better write-up of the event on the school site. http://www.kurwongbss.qld.edu.au/thinking/Intro/ed%20views%20article.htm

Yep, the picture is from my 28th birthday party. I’m now 36… Brian’s correct in thinking it was chosen for its celebratory feel.

MrLefty, I’d be happy to update the blogroll but that’s Ken’s domain – I can’t access it. Perhaps you could send him an email when he resurfaces.

Mark doesn’t look that much older, but his haircut and taste in shirts have entered the twenty-first century…

wow – these Bahnisch Boys sure have a kind of hip, in an off beat way, taste in the shirt / sport jacket area.

Yikes, Francis, the one time in my life I choose to wear a hawaiian shirt! They were in in the summer of 96. Honestly! Incidentally, it gave me a rash. Poor quality die combined with humidity. The doc at the medical centre the next day (Sunday) said he’d seen a few cases of hawaiian shirt rash already that Brisvegas summer… troppo indeed!

Hmmm, I wonder if I can find the green thai silk dinner jacket for the next photo shoot… Or maybe the ‘thin white duke’ style white pants with the triple pleats from my school formal… I do hereby swear by all I hold dear though that I never wore a leather tie in the 80s…

Francis the jacket is fine. It’s one of those fine check things that presents itself as brown but actually has different colours embedded. It’s just that the camera didn’t have enough pixels or something and exploded its limited intelligence.
