Matters Social, Musical and Humanitarian

Quick pitstop from the Toowong net cafe closest to Thesis land. Just wanted to remind people in Brizvegas of the grogblog at Ric’s Bar tomorrow nightTroppo readers and commenters are most welcome. Also a plug for Funk for Tsunami at No. 12 in the Valley tonight – which a friend of mine is helping organise. Details at Time Off. Unfortunately, I won’t be there as I have to write an application for a Griffith Uni research fellowship due in tomorrow, but it’s a great cause. While you’re at the timeoff site, you might like to check out two bands I am going to see on the weekend – the excellent Jazz band Kafka, whose CD launch is at the Zoo on Saturday night, and the fabulous New Buffalo (aka Sally Seltmann), who’s playing at the Troubadour in Brunswick St on Sunday night.

UPDATE: Evidently I can’t read. The Kafka cd launch is actually on March 12th.

Be great to see you in March, John – it’s likely to take place at the Merthyr Bowls Club in New Farm on a Sunday afternoon…
