Government blogs

As Dan Herman argues, Governments using blogs is no big deal. They typically use them as new places to post press releases.

Then again, that’s better than nothing as the informality of blogs allows much more frequent posting so research agencies like the Congressional Budget Office can post useful stuff on their blog as it becomes available.

And this blog by a government agency is really good. And it’s in guess where? Security. So at least in one agency in the world instead of putting the public through inane pretend security checks (as we do at airports where you can get through with twice as much metal as they used in the box cutters they used on Sept 11) they discuss the issues seriously. Have a look at how they’re talking through things on this post. Better than rounding up all those people who tell jokes to security guards.

And if you want to look at all the US Govt blogs, look no further.
