Tony the wuz

I always suspected that Tony Abbott was a sheep in wolf’s clothing, a bit of a wimp when it came to the crunch.  Now it’s been confirmed.

Abbott reckons that Peter Garrett should be charged with industrial manslaughter over the ceiling insulation debacle.  But the truth is far more sinister.  Abbott has failed to notice the overwhelming circumstantial evidence before his eyes that it was really premeditated murder; Garrett planned the crimes at least 23 years ago when he placed a cryptic clue to his evil intent in Midnight Oil’s seminal work Batts Are Burning (commonly misheard as “beds”).

If you need any further convincing (and what right-thinking person would), what about the rest of the lyrics including the deeply disturbing “it belongs to them now give it back”? It will be difficult if not impossible to prove, but it’s clear that Garrett conspired with the legion of disgruntled, inept Australian insulation installers to incinerate the McMansions of the nation’s aspirational middle class so their land can be returned to the indigenes.

I wonder if Tone might consider slotting me into a safe Liberal seat to take over from Barnaby in Finance?

Maybe if Joe Hockey can be persuaded to take on Youth, Sport and Recreation so Barnaby gets Treasury. Meanwhile, Ken,

Abbott’s says he’s not for turning
Not while Barnaby is burning
To put this country straight.

No one else can do the Finance
And not because there is a romance
Between two St Ignatius graduates.

And don’t believe he is irrational
He is the very best of Nationals
And no one’s little mate.

The Coalition resurrection
Owes everything to his selection.
He’s making hay of Climategate.

The media love our Barnaby
He’s the man who’s gunnabe
The answer to this country’s fate.

He’ll be Treasurer one day for sure
‘N make Australia’s reputation pure.
No debt instalment ever repaid late.

Yes, Peter Garrett’s batts are burning
The punters all our way are turning.
And Rudd’s too scared to set the election date.

At last the Liberals are holding this destructive government to account. They pretend that they care but they are just words. Trying to look like they care just for publicity and when it comes to the crunch, they do nothing. They have wasted all the money and when the Liberals do eventually get back into government, there will be no money left, just a huge debt and no assets left from Labor’s asset fire sales.

Bob, I’ve go the roof insulated, a couple of schools within s troll of me have got some really useful facilities and local tradesmen around the place look decidedly busy.

That sure looks like something to me
