I'll try and shut up for the rest of the day after this, and let other armadillos have a go, but I can't let the opportunity slip to point out some excellent news for anyone with an interest in Australian law. AustLII, already the world's premier free access online legal resource, has just secured the right to post all High Court decisions from the Court's inception in 1903. Decisions from 1947 onwards have been available for a long time. The posting of older decisions is courtesy of the rights holder Thomson Legal & Regulatory Pty Ltd (Law Book Co), which publishes the authorised reports series Commonwealth Law Reports. High Court decisions form an important part of Australia's general history and inform our culture, as well as being artefacts of current law and legal history, so their availability to readers without access to expensive subscription databases is welcome.
