Puzzled by Plump Lips

In a review of Elektra, Paul Byrnes in the SMH makes this astute observation:

Garner looks terribly serious, her plump lips pursed into a parody of determination. Boy, that top lip is plumper than I remember it being in Suddenly 30, the last film I saw her in. That lip would give Angelina Jolie a run for her money. Hollywood actresses seem to have self-inflating parts nowadays. Breasts, lips and muscles pop up and down as required.

I never understood why big lips were considered so sexy, and when and why they became compulsory for Hollywood actresses. Can anyone help me on this one?

I didn't get that impression on the 'smells like teen spirit' thread, David!

David's right. But I think "lollipops" might get you heading in the right direction.

As the northcote knob I appreciate this lady's gifts- even if they were given for christmas.

I think the word you are looking to match up is ****, which i'll reproduce as "heritage".

She has "heritage-sucking lips". They look like they'd be "great wrapped around the base of my heritage". She looks "made for heritage".

    Nuff said?

The tragic thing is what Meg Ryan did to her lips.

They were thin, but they were not thin in a bad way. They had personality and were better at expression than fat lips, which are kind of a one-trick pony.
