I've found from long experience that if you don't promote yourself no-one else is likely to do it for you. So it is with great pleasure that I note Troppo has been awarded the gong by Crikey as it's Best Blog of the Year. I'm usually not a great believer in awards, especially not the ones where readers vote for their favourite choice. But I have a high regard for the crew at Crikey, and I cerrtainly can't argue with their taste in blog reading!!!
In fact, the award is far more a testimony to Nicholas Gruen's wit, wisdom and prolific output given my own patchy posting over the last 6 months or so. Well done too to all the other occasional Troppo contributors, not to mention our loyal and frequently erudite band of commenters. A Happy Christmas to all of us!!!
