Ned the Bear needs to ensure he is funny or risk his cat stealing the limelight
This is the second gratuitous critic who apparently thinks that it's perfectly OK to heap shit on a cartoon they happen not to like. It isn't. It's simply rude. The cartoons are put here for your entertainment, not to provoke discussion or comment (in contrast to posts involving argumentation) . If you don't like them, don't bother to look at them. Lots of readers enjoy them. If we keep getting commenters with no manners whatever, I'll simply turn off the comment facility for the cartoons.
Humour is a really individual thing. There's no humourist anywhere who the entire audience finds funny all the time. Thus, if you find a particular sketch/cartoon unfunny, don't bother to tell us. The only response is: so what? Or who cares?
The "refuse to be drawn" line made me laugh out loud. Heh!
Aaaha... Ned's hitched; now we know why he's cranky :-)
Well, I thought it was funny, even before I got 'refuse to be drawn'.
The lippy on the girly bear is a nice touch, too.
Larry Pickering used this sort of technique of interacting with the audience very well. I remember one of his cartoons had a character saying 'crumbs, I hope no one is reading this!'.
I was trying to be funny....geeez
I like the cartoons, especially this one.
