A caller on local radio yesterday suggested Chris Lilley should star in the planned television movie on Maxine McKew -- as McKew, Howard and some representative voters. It was meant as joke, but I think he might very well pull it off.
Why? I've watched and loved everything Lilley has ever done, and he specialises in characters who are massively over-reaching and in love with themselves and their own perceived brilliance, while, in fact, being tragically lacking in dignity, talent, self awareness and social skills. I don't see McKew as falling into that category.
Well, what about a fictitious Making of 'Maxine'? He could portray the actors chosen for the parts of McKew, Howard and some representative voters.
Helen to play Maxine , Harry Clarke to play JWH, nabakov - Malcolm Turnbull, CL or saint - Tony Abbott, TonyT - Wilson Iron Bar Tuckey, Nic Gruen - Kevin Rudd, Ken Parish - Brendan Nelson, Jacques C- Barry Jones, .......
I nominate Zoe from Crazybrave for Julia.
Bags I not Julie Bishop, but.
I would like to be that white blouse of Maxine's with the satiny collar and cuffs and the see-through stripes.
Homer Paxton for Barry Cohen. Fyodor for Annabel Crabb. John Greenfield for Alan Ramsey.
Ma certo.
Oh. I see what you mean. Probably still affirmative. Hair might be a challenge, but: I'd need some help to avoid looking like Nigel Tufnel.
