Why is it that Nigerian emails are so unbelievable? The answer is that the extreme unbelievability of these messages automatically filters the recipients of the email scams; The vast majority of more skeptical recipients automatically hit the delete button, and therefore 'unbelievability' delivers to the scamers a constant, pre-filtered stream of those who can believe anything.
