The flyer for the Canberra launch says RSVP by 20th April (i.e 10 days ago). Is that binding?
no, not binding.
With luck, then, I shall attend. And probably find reasons to disagree, but I suspect you would expect nothing less.
Ah yes 'An Economic Theory of Greed, Love, Groups and Networks' not to mention Stockholm Syndrome eh?
Just a sample from one of our Sandstone seers-
Yes the usual suspects finding racism, misogyny and homophobia under every pile of trash or in every dunny.. err gender space.
The problem with academia is it's a bit like music. The big genres have all been discovered and done to death so it gets harder and harder to come up with something original or worthy of listening to. Like music, scientific enquiry becomes an increasingly marginal pursuit and it's not hard to see the temptation to simply make things up, albeit the name of the game is to build an empire around that or try to be a big wheel witin an existing group.
Our sandstones are now full of the Stapels and Lewandowskys in the pixie dust disciplines, not to mention how the same mentality has fostered the junk science of climatology, the new Lysenkoism of our age, slowly but surely being dragged kicking and screaming into the light. Our eternal gratitude to whistleblower FOIA here. Eisenhower wasn't it. who warned us about it? Yes we need some thinkers in residence but how to get rid of the plethora of stinkers in residence, that is the question now.
Paul - As discussed, this post.
Interestingly, in comments you say a 400 page book would be required. Your book is 396 (excluding references), so I hold high hopes.
And speaking of greed, luvvies and their groups and networks
No doubt you covered all that, not to mention the Wilson, Thompson, Gillard crowd in establishing that economic theory of yours Paul?
