Just following up on yesterday’s post I managed to secure AFL tickets to Saturday’s final between Collingwood and the Swannies, or – as Tandberg called them in one cartoon featuring Ita Butrose as one of their main supporters – the Thidney Thwans.
Displaying some of the problems the first post highlighted – and perhaps more than my own fair share of stupidity – the first time I went through the purchasing routine, trying to meet the time limits imposed by the system on pain of losing one’s place in the queue, I ticked – or thought I ticked – one adult and two kids – but managed only to buy a single adult ticket for $59.45.
Having now purchased what I tried to purchase the first time, I have to offload the ticket.
Now I wouldn’t scalp it would I? So I’ll take the first offer of $59 or possibly an offer below that if you make it in comments.
With today’s technology it’s dead easy – I just email you the pdf of the ticket, you print it out and Bob’s your uncle. You wire the money to my bank account.
Probably a good thing, Nicholas, otherwise you’d have to cut back on the time you spend collecting art with your advisors.
Indeed. Can you send me a scan of the pickie?
Tempted to make an offer on the ticket, but not so confident of South’s chances on Saturday night, after seeing them get beaten by the Pies at the MCG 2 weeks ago. Think I’ll stay home with the TV this time.
(And it was a lovely pic, Nicholas)
Will do.
But it will be a bit later when I get home to my scanner.
Presumably you could print out as many of the .pdfs of the ticket as you want to.
Then it’s a race to get it scanned first at the gate. Looks like a money maker. As long as the people you scam don’t get together and find out your address.
Yes, I’d thought of that. Just trust me . . .
Following your post on The Monthly, I hope you’ll be in red and white. Right?
Boynton, Looks like we’re both pessimists. I’m a Collingwood die hard and fear for the worst. You support Sydney and fear the worst. I fear the Swannies have done their usual and got serious at the end of the season. We got serious for about four weeks in the middle of the year when we played like a top two or three side. Since then, we’ve just grafted the games we’ve won.
But who knows – I guess that’s why we like going!
Nick, you better hope that there is a tied grand final. After all, collingwood haven’t won a grand final in September since 1958. The grandfinal in 1990 was held in October. You’ve got to love September. It is the month of the collywobbles!!! Here’s hoping the mighty Blues get some September action in the near future. In the mean time, I’ll need to console myself with memories of past glory. Remember 1970, 1979 and 1981?
Yes, I do rather. I was there in 1970 and 1979 or was it 1981 (whichever one it was in which Harms punched the ball from the forward pocket to the goal square, the rest being history)?
It was 1979!!!
