very cool. A stirling job was done up-teching the site. The one thing I miss from the old site is the archives by author which I found very handy.
Yes me too. I don't know how to reinstate it. I'll get Jacques to have a look when he gets a moment.
Very elegant, however, I miss that I can't see the new posts when I first go to the site.
I suggest cutting the top graphic height by 30% and reducing the amount of white space above and below it (and below the 'Featured articles' heading). This might not look as elegant, but would encourage reading of the new posts.

Great minds think alike!! That's exactly what I'm trying to achieve so the new posts are immediately visible on entry. however I need technical help to achieve it because it will require modifying the Wordpress theme template. I don't have admin access to do that nor the expertise (although I'm sure I could work it out if I had to). I'm waiting for our IT guru and genial host Jacques Chester to have time to help.
