I hope all Troppo writers and readers have a wonderful 2005. May all your resolutions be kept and all your hopes be fulfilled.
No doubt it will be a good year for the Australian blogosphere. It’s nice to be able to welcome back Georg, formerly of Psephite, who’s returned with a new blog, Terminological Inexactitude. I’ve always enjoyed Georg’s writing and she has a great knack for a good blog name as well!
No doubt blog connoisseurs will also be keeping an eye on Chris Sheil’s windowsill in the hope that BackPages is resurrected.

ELSEWHERE: David Tiley at Barista gives out his own 2004 awards. Modesty doesn’t prevent me from mentioning that Troppo won one. David also finds hope in dark times out of what John Quiggin thinks was a miserable year in 2004. The G-G notes that 2005 didn’t exactly start off as a good news year either.
UPDATE: Enjoyed the view at sunset from Mount Coot-tha, the company of my partner, the Moet on the back deck at Bardon, the fireworks over the trees, and watching The Big Chill on dvd… Gorgeous cool night as well for a Brisbane summer. 2005 is here and I hope everyone’s off to a wonderful start in the New Year!
